00-HERO — Mobile Checkout Redesign (Fluent 2).jpg

CONTEXT

A single inline confirmation step was added to the address-entry flow during checkout. Instead of submitting an address and hoping the unit number was right, users now see a one-tap confirmation screen that catches errors before they cause a failed delivery or a frustrated retry.

That one screen change is projected to cut cart abandonment at address entry by 41%, based on usability testing with 8 first-time users and a review of 1,200 support tickets.

It also eliminates the repeated retyping that was driving users to give up and switch to a competitor app — re-entry attempts dropped 68% in testing.

The fix shipped within real constraints: no swap of the third-party address API, one engineering sprint, and zero new mandatory fields — so it didn't trade one friction point for another.
